About Research Network 37 – Urban Sociology – ESA
I am Lígia Ferro, the new coordinator of the Research Network 37 – Urban Sociology – of the European Sociological Association. Along with our colleagues and vice-coordinators Marta Smagacz-Poziemska (JU IS) and M. Victoria Gómez (UC3M), as well as with Patrícia Pereira (CICS.NOVA, FCSH-UNL), Juan Jose Villalon (UNED) and Sebastian Kurtenbach (ISS/ZEFIR) as board members, we form the new team of the RN 37.
We are already working on the midterm conference organisation, “Moving cities: Contested views on urban life“, that will take place at the Jagiellonian University, in Krakow, Poland from the 29th of June until the 1st of July, 2016.
The call for papers will be launched in about one month, so please, save the date! We will try to create a very productive moment during the midterm conference in Krakow, where we will have space to share our works, discuss ideas and make contacts to develop joint research and other collaborations.
Our newsletter, research blog and facebook will be launched also in about one month. If you have research news (including research findings, publications, events, etc.) that you want to share with our members and the broader scientific community, address them to my e-mail and we will be glad to give voice to you and spread this information.
All the suggestions and comments will be very useful for our work.
Please share the information on the Krakow Conference with your colleagues and feel free to contact us anytime.
